You can divide a line in parts by using a segment at location, and segment at interval.

Steps:

Draw a “single line”.
Select “segment at location” line tool from tool palette.
Now Select midpoint of line.
This tool will divide tool into two equal parts.
Now select selection cursor and drag one part of line to separate it from other.
